The Meaning of Flowers
Over the centuries
different flowers have been associated with different meanings.
Originally a secret language of flowers was developed by the Turks
to send secret messages or convey feelings of attraction, affection or
love.
This secret language was introduce into Europe in the 1700's and was
particularly popular
with the Victorians. Today, however, many of the meanings have been
lost
and the trend for secret messages has gone - except for on Valentine's
Day!
But, just out of interest, here are a few flowers with their
traditional meanings
