Valentine Roses

Red roses at Valentines Day are a nightmare for the florist and Flower Delivery Company!

Why? - because there are so many to choose from!

The poor unsuspecting public, blinded by their love and passion,
understandably, don't always know the difference between all the different types of
 red roses at Valentines Day.
So if you think 12 red roses for £9.99 is cheap - you're right -
there is a reason for it!

Read on and all will be explained.......

On February 14th it is Valentines Day across the whole world.
So, all the rose growing companies around the world gear themselves up for this major event
where literally millions of red roses are sold.
Across Europe there are four main sources of Red Roses for Valentines Day -
Columbia in South America, Holland, Kenya and Israel.

As demand is so high for roses, and, it has to be said wastage is also high, prices are high.

Rose prices can vary depending upon variety, size and country of origin.

Roses start in size at 40cm long and go up to 90cm long for the very finest blooms.

The longer the stem, the longer the flower has been growing and so the bigger the heads.

The longer the stem the more expensive the flower.
At Valentines Day in 2007 the smallest of red roses were wholesaling at about 35p per stem -
this went up to a mighty £2.90 per stem for the finest bloom.
Although most florists would have been paying about £1.00 to £1.50 per stem.
Some roses also command a high price due to their variety.
The most popular red rose varieties are Passion, Grand Prix, Ruby Red, Happy Hour,
Torero, El Toro, First Red and Calypso.

We at Flower Delivery UK have tried to  buck the trend and provide for our
customers something that little bit different.  Black Beauty Roses.
Small headed roses which come out a beautiful deep deep red and which, when fully open,
subtly change to a shade of pink - truely lovely.
They are offset with golden solidago and red berried hypericum.
So if you want red roses with a difference - take a look at our Black Beauty Rose Bouquet!

And next time you see withered roses in the local corner shop
and compare them to the roses from a reputable flower company like Flower Delivery UK -
please bear a thought - not all roses are the same!
